The Department of Agricultural Economics and Economics educates students to make a difference by applying solid critical-thinking skills to address some of the world’s most pressing issues.

 

Situated jointly within the College of Agriculture and the College of Letters and Science, our award-winning faculty members are dedicated to high-quality education, outreach and research. 

The department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in EconomicsAgricultural Business, and Financial Engineering (jointly with MSU College of Engineering), and a Master of Science degree in Applied Economics. Our current enrollment is 274 students and 15 graduate students.

Our programs have an excellent reputation with local, regional, national and international firms, as well as with exceptional graduate schools in law, economics and public policy.
